Taste-Safe Sensory Play

Taste-Safe Sensory Play

Are you ready to introduce your little one to a world of sensory exploration? Camp Counselor Chelly is here with a fun and interactive activity will not only engage your baby's senses but also provide a safe and enjoyable way for them to explore new flavors and textures.

What You’ll Need:

  • Lemon
  • Water
  • Bin
  • Towel or Picnic Blanket

Instructions:

  1. Cut lemon into thin slices (double check for any sneaky seeds) and add lemon slices into water.
  2. Set up an area where your baby is comfortable and can reach the tray

This is one of my favorite activities once baby starts sitting up and trying foods! Your baby can reach for the slices, splash the water, taste, smell, feel.. It’s amazing watching their little fingers grasp the slices and bring them up to their mouth, but really my favorite part is the sour face expression!

To make this activity last longer, turn it into tummy time and talk about colors, shapes, textures!

Here are some examples:

  • The lemon is yellow.
  • The yellow lemon is smooth.
  • The lemon is round.

Have fun tasting the rainbow all summer long with other fruits such as: oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, plums, etc.. :)
